About

The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) is a government-owned utility in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Established to provide electricity, water, and natural gas services, SEWA serves approximately 300,000 consumers across the emirate. Originally founded as the private Sharjah Electricity & Water Resources Co., the organization transitioned to government ownership, becoming the Sharjah Electricity & Water Department. With the emirate's growth, it evolved into an independent entity known as SEWA, following a decree by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi.
